2018 Opera Cruise - The Merry Widow

Boarding begins at 6:30 p.m.

A sunset cruise on Lake CDA with the performance in the round, topside.  This one of a kind experience sells out quickly and is a favorite for many. The Cruise this year features The Merry Widow, by Franz Lehár. Sung in English.

Career Highlights: Solo debut at Carnegie Hall in 1996 with the New England Symphonic Ensemble under the baton of John Rutter, in Haydn’s The Creation; Performed at Lincoln Center with The National Chorale in the Messiah; Rigoletto with the Lake Charles Symphony; Figaro (Le Nozze di Figaro) with Mississippi Opera, Tacoma Opera, Tri-Cities Opera and Willamette Concert Opera; the Count (Le nozze di Figaro), Don Quixote (The Man of La Mancha); Leporello (Don Giovani) with Spokane Opera.

Dawn Wolski, Valencienne

Recent: Carmina Burana (soloist) with the Whatcom Symphony Orchestra; “Glitter and Be Gay” on Polish National television for millions of viewers and unscheduled repeat performance; Frasquita (Carmen) with Opera Coeur d’Alene.

Career Highlights: Finalist and Prizewinner in the Zara Dolukhanova International Artsong Competition (Russia); First Prize for Best Vocalist in the Zjangjiajie International Music Festival (China); Solo appearance on the famous Chinese CCTV show, “Happy Camp.”

Timothy Augustin, Camille

Recent: Ferrando (Cosi fan tutte) with Lima Opera Festival; Idreno (Semiramide) with OperaDelaware; Ramiro (La Cenerentola) with Washington Opera Society.

Career Highlights: Three concert/opera tours of Asia; Over 20 roles with Washington National Opera; Numerous White House performances.

Upcoming: Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) with Baltimore Concert Opera; Lenski  (Eugene Onegin) Teatro Municipal de Lima; Nick (Fanciulla del West) with Maryland Lyric Opera.

Christopher Pfund, Njegus

Recent: Soloist with the Orchestre Symphonique de Quebec, the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, the Tucson Symphony, and Fort Wayne Philharmonic.

Career Highlights: Roasting Swan (Carmina Burana) with the symphony orchestras of Alabama, Des Moines, Cleveland, Colorado, Fort Wayne, Hartford, Houston, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Nashville, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Reading, and San Diego; Created the role of Rev. Eugene Hendrix in a world-premiere concert performance of Gregory Vajda’s opera Georgia Bottoms with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra.

Connor Ealey, Raoul de St Brioche

Recent: Billy Bigelow (Carousel) with Lake City Playhouses; Studied at North Idaho College; Studied at University of Idaho. .

Career Highlights: Winner – the University of Idaho’s Aria Competition in 2016; Comprimario role in La Boheme; Comprimario role in La Fanciulla del West; Multiple chorus and special event appearances with Inland Northwest Opera.

Lars Mellander, Vicomte Cascada

Recent: Soloist Inland Northwest Opera Fundraiser.

Career Highlights: Fellow at the Aspen Music Festival; Carmina Burana with the San Diego Symphony; Artist in Residence San Diego Opera; Des Moines Opera Young Artist Program/Fellow.
